The Kiddush words on this challa cover are from Genesis and they describe the first Shabbat since the creation of the world. It describes how G-d sanctified the seventh day and made it holy. The words are: "Vayachulu hashamayim vehaaretz vekol tzvaam (Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them), vayichal elohim mikol melachto asher asa (And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made), vayishbot vayom hashvii mikol melachto asher asa (and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made), vayevarech elohim et yom hashvii vayekadesh oto (And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it), ki bo shabat mikol melachto asher bara elohim laasot (because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made)". The challa cover traditionally covers the braided bread during the Kiddush and the challas are revealed only to blessed on also.
This is a wonderful present for a newlywed couple!
